Who is a Sunday school teacher or church volunteer who had a massive impact in your life?
It is good to have people to follow. People have an impact in your life, embrace it! Always test everything with the Scriptures, but follow and learn from someone.
The Pastor at the small church where Syler got saved. He was a man committed to faithful ministry in a little Baptist Church in Delta, Utah. The man didn't have a massive church but loved his congregation and teaches them the Scriptures. Not only did he preach it, but he LIVED IT.
Matthew learned a lot from his dad. His dad was always willing to share what he believed whether people cared or not. As a model his dad would consistently read the Bible early in the morning and led family devotions later at night. Though Matthew didn't interact in those moments they were noted and had an impact later on as maturity set in.
Matthew's first youth pastor Tim Houck is his second hero as well. The man spent countless number of hours with Matthew and spoke truth into his life on multiple occasions. He showed up at Matthew's grandparents funerals which was pretty crazy and through those moments built trust and relationship.

Syler and Matthew's number ONE!

Number Two
Syler's first youth pastor Mark Strouse. Mark was the first one to pour into Syler. Mark brought Syler under his wing and helped him prepare to study and teach. It is a funny story to hear how they both met each other! Mark allowed Syler to preach his first message. Number Three
Syler's number three came down to .... JC Ryle the archbishop of Liverpool. He talks in a way that resonates with Syler. A guy who lived years and years ago relates to us. He walked through difficult times and wrote about his pursuit of Jesus no matter what! The man was die hard interested in what the Bible says.

Matthew's hero number three is Pastor John Piper. Matthew loves the authenticity of John Piper. John Piper seems to be the same man on the platform as he is in front of the platform after he speaks on it! He is passionate about the Word.
